Kevin O’Connell
With 15 years’ experience handling complex class action administrations across Canada, Kevin O’Connell is responsible for overseeing the Canadian Hepatitis C blood transfusion settlements in which his team has distributed over $1.9 billion in compensation to more than 36,000 class members to date. Since 2002, Mr. O’Connell has gained hands’ on experience in all aspects of Canadian class action settlements and voluntary government compensation programs, with particular knowledge of personal and corporate economic loss awards, settlement trust fund management, and class notification plans.

As Senior Project Manager of the Canadian Hepatitis C blood transfusion settlements, and reporting to the British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec courts, Mr. O’Connell successfully leads the operations relating to the administration of claims of these complex and high profile pan-Canadian class action settlements. The team is currently implementing the recent court decisions to allocate $163 million in excess capital back to approved class members. Mr. O’Connell’s other recent experience includes managing the $17.7 million Zyprexa pharmaceutical class action, the $17.5 Newfoundland & Labrador Breast Cancer Screening medical class action, and the AMT Commuter Train consumer class action.
